Helping parents and teens navigate the stormy seas of adolescence with love, laughter and the science of resilience
As a nationally recognized specialist in adolescent behavior and parenting, Dr. Bradley has worked with adolescents and their parents for over 30 years and currently has a private practice in suburban Philadelphia. Doc Mike is also an award-winning author and speaker, and serves as a resource for mental health professionals, educators, and parenting groups. In addition to being a licensed clinical psychologist, Dr. Bradley maintains additional certifications as an expert in the treatments of substance abuse and trauma recovery, and is also certified as a Diplomate in the American College of Forensic Examiners. However, he believes that his best credential is having raised a son and a daughter into young adulthood, giving him the in-the-trenches experience (and scars, as he says) that can only come from parenthood.
Dr. Bradley is a recipient of the William Penn Human Rights Award, Commission on Human Relations, for a national demonstration project he created and directed which proved that troubled teenagers wrestling with terrible challenges such as drugs, truancy, pregnancy, and aggression can be turned around with compassionate, respect-based, resilience-building
treatment.
With real-world advice, proven strategies and tested methods Doc Mike gives families ideas they can use to achieve fast results. He takes you inside your teenager’s head and shows you why teens think and behave the way they do. He shows you how to restore lines of communication, transform your relationship with your teen, and make your family whole again.
As part of his private practice, Dr. Bradley also offers fee-based cyber consultations for parents and professionals. Each session runs fifty minutes. Consultations are available weekdays and evenings, seven days a week. The fee is $200 per session. While Dr. Bradley does not accept insurance directly, he does provide coded statements that can be submitted to insurers for possible reimbursement.
Being a teenager has never been easy. But with the crazy world that’s been handed to today's teens, it's been tougher than ever. Teens and pre-teens struggle with the age-old stresses of sex, violence, drugs and alcohol but now to levels not experienced by prior generations. The only job more difficult than being a contemporary teen is being the parent of one. And in this new and sometimes dangerous millennium, many parents are poorly equipped, operating with 30-year-old parenting rules that simply don't work anymore.
Explaining that you, the parent, are still the most important and powerful influence in your teenager's life, Dr. Bradley provides the training and skills needed to guide your 21st century teen into a strong, confident, productive adult. Therapy sessions are offered for the family and/or individually to repair those often fraying yet critical family connections.
As part of his private practice, Dr. Bradley offers fee-based telephone or video consultations for
parents and professionals.
